What does this mean for me?
Parents will be able to save time by completing the packet each student receives on the first day of each school year through the Online Registration portal. This packet includes emergency cards, health forms, and various other permissions and acknowledgments for the new school year.
It typically takes a parent 45 minutes to complete the first-day paperwork for each child they have enrolled in the district on the paper forms. The online version will take them 20 minutes or less for each child. Therefore drastically reducing the amount of time spent filling out forms.
How will it work?
Parents of returning students will need to have a Skyward Family Access account. Through Online Registration parents will be able to log in to Family Access, click on “Online Registration” and work through the steps. Parents will have the option to save and come back to complete the steps at a later time.
What if I have children on different campuses?
A parent can access all of their student's Online Registrations on any computer through Skyward Family Access.
Example: a parent has a child at Wheat and Cooke, but they work near Coleman, they could use the computer lab at Coleman to complete the Online Registrations for all of their students.
What if my child is a transfer student?
Students who live within the district will be assigned to the campus within their attendance zone. You should have already applied for a transfer for the new school year through the Student Services Office. Once the transfer is approved the student will be assigned to the approved campus, and the online registration will follow them. Parents will not have to complete a second registration.
Students who live outside the district will be withdrawn at the end of this school year. You should have already reapplied through the Student Services Office for the new school year. Online registration will not be available until the transfer is approved.
