Photography & Media Guidelines

At Cleburne ISD, we enjoy highlighting the great things happening in our schools. To ensure student safety, privacy, and clear communication, here’s what you can do when it comes to photography and media.

Who Can Take Photos at CISD Events

  • CISD Staff & Authorized Students: Only individuals with a CISD-issued camera and CISD ID may take official photos or videos at district or campus events. This includes:
    • CISD Communications Department staff
    • Students in the Student Creator Network
    • Authorized students in CHS CTE classes
  • Parents & Guardians: Parents are always welcome to take photos or videos of their own child from their seat or the stands, as long as it’s appropriate based on copyright rules (such as during performances).
  • Professional Photographers: A CISD department may contract a professional photographer when specific services are required that cannot be provided by the district

Media & Press Guidelines

To protect student privacy and ensure consistent communication, media coverage is managed by the district’s Communications Department.

  • Media Requests and Inquiries: All media contact must go through the Coordinator of Community Relations, Debbie Reynolds, at 817-202-1183. She coordinates:
    • Interviews and statements
    • Press visits to campuses
    • Photography and video coverage
  • Athletic Event Exception: For regular athletic coverage (scores, brief quotes), secondary coaches and staff may speak directly with the media.
  • Television Coverage: Any filming by TV crews must be approved in advance by the principal and superintendent. When approved, crews will be accompanied at all times by a member of the Communications Department.
  • Student Privacy: Students can only be photographed or filmed if their parent or guardian has given permission through the district’s directory information form. Each campus must maintain a list of students who may not be photographed. This list must be followed closely.
  • Reporters on Campus: If a reporter visits a school, they must be escorted to and from the interview location. Reporters are never allowed to move freely around a campus. Phone interviews with staff members must also be arranged through the Communications Department.

Sharing the CISD Story

The Communications Department works hard to spotlight the great things happening across the district. To help us tell your story:

  • Let the Communications team know about upcoming events or celebrations at least one week in advance.
  • Encourage your staff to share student and faculty achievements with the Communications Department at community@c-isd.com.

Thank you for helping us showcase CISD in a way that is safe, respectful, and student-focused. Let’s keep celebrating the excellence happening in every classroom.
